- No. HVHZ covers Miami-Dade and Broward.
- Which approval applies here?
- Statewide Florida Product Approval.
- Is "Miami-Dade approved" better?
- A different regime, not automatically better for your address.
- Does every opening need the same rating?
- No. It varies by size, height, position and exposure.
- What are corner zones?
- Higher-pressure areas near corners, routinely ignored in quotes.
- Does the approval cover any size?
- Only tested sizes and configurations.
- Do impact windows stop surge?
- No. Wind and debris only.
- Will they reduce insurance?
- Ask your insurer. Wind and flood are separate.
- Is glass-only retrofit rated?
- On most older frames, no.
- Why does the garage door matter?
- Largest opening, and failure pressurizes the house.
- Is bracing optional?
- It is part of the rated system.
- Does substrate matter?
- The approval specifies anchoring into a particular material.
- Are older homes consistent?
- Frequently a mixture. Verify per opening.
- Are you local?
- No. Fort Lauderdale based, licensed statewide, scheduled work.
- Should we use someone local?
- For small or urgent work, yes.
